As I reflect on the past 11 years of Intertidal Services Inc., my heart is filled with
deep gratitude. It has been an incredible journey walking alongside children, youth,
adults, and their families; sharing in their joys, challenges, growth, and resiliency.
From the very beginning, my passion for this work has been unwavering. Since high school, I
have been deeply in love with supporting individuals with disabilities and complex
needs, and that calling continues to guide everything I do.
At Intertidal, we believe in the power of people. We recognize and respect the
rich cultural landscapes in which we live and work, and we honour the Indigenous
communities whose land we are privileged to share. We believe that
everyone—regardless of ability—has the capacity to grow, learn, and thrive when rooted
in connection to their community, supported with compassion, and seen for their
strengths.
Over the years, I have found profound joy in spending time in our programs,
teaching, learning, and connecting. These everyday moments in what I like to call
''glimmers'' reminds us of the beauty and possibility in even the smallest steps forward.
They reaffirm our commitment to supporting people not just in services, but in building
meaningful lives.
Our work is grounded in a multidisciplinary approach, one that respects the
whole person and the collective strength of collaboration. It is also guided by mindful
leadership, leading with heart, awareness, and a commitment to continuous growth.
The resilience I’ve witnessed in individuals, families, and our team inspires me daily.
Together, we navigate challenges, celebrate progress, and co-create a future where
inclusion is not just a goal, but a lived reality.
To every family, team member, community partner, and individual we’ve had the
honour to support, thank you. Thank you for trusting us, teaching us, and walking with
us. The journey continues, and I am filled with hope for all that lies ahead.
